Staying south of the river
Waterloo is on the south bank of the Thames, which makes it one of the easier central London stations to reach from Rosehill. The usual route follows the A24 north through Morden, Tooting and Clapham, then goes through Kennington towards the station. Because the car never has to cross the river, the journey is often more predictable than runs to the stations on the north bank. Journeys into central London during charging hours may cross the Congestion Charge zone. We will confirm when you book whether it is included in your fixed fare.
Trains from Waterloo
South Western Railway runs services from Waterloo to Woking, Guildford, Basingstoke, Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Weymouth and Exeter. Waterloo East, across the footbridge, has Southeastern trains to Kent. If you are catching a train to a cruise terminal at Southampton, or a long journey to the South West with lots of luggage, a car to the station takes the stress out of the start.
Theatres, the South Bank and the London Eye
Not every Waterloo booking is about trains. The station is the nearest drop-off point for the Old Vic, the National Theatre and the Southbank Centre, and the London Eye is a short walk away. After a show, we can collect you at an agreed time, which saves waiting for a train home to Sutton late at night. For groups going to a show together, a 6 seater or 7 seater taxi is often good value.
Drop-off and meeting points
Waterloo has several entrances, and the roads immediately around the station are busy with buses. Our drivers set you down at a permitted stopping point near the entrance you need. For a return pickup, the driver will tell you in advance where to meet, which is usually a quieter side road near the station.
Flying instead?
If you are travelling on from London, compare our airport services. Heathrow and Gatwick are both direct runs from Rosehill. Visitors staying in hotels near the South Bank can use our hotel transfer taxi to get to the airport.
When the trains are disrupted
Waterloo is the busiest station on the South Western network, so when there is engineering work, bad weather or a strike, the effects are felt here first. If your train home is cancelled, or you have to reach a connection on time, call us and we will send a car. For planned disruption, such as weekend engineering works, it is best to book ahead.
