What leaves from Paddington
Paddington is Great Western Railway's London terminus. Trains run to Reading, Oxford, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea, Exeter, Plymouth and Penzance. The Night Riviera sleeper to Cornwall departs late in the evening. The station is also the London end of the Heathrow Express, and the Elizabeth line runs underneath it.
A route that avoids the centre
Unlike the stations in the City, Paddington is west of the centre, so from Rosehill our drivers can usually avoid the busiest streets. The typical route goes north through Wimbledon or Wandsworth, crosses the Thames and heads up through Chelsea and Kensington to the north side of Hyde Park. The journey still depends on traffic, especially around Wandsworth and Earl's Court, so please book with your train time in mind. Journeys into central London during charging hours may cross the Congestion Charge zone. We will confirm when you book whether it is included in your fixed fare.
Arriving at the station
Paddington is a big station with entrances on several sides. Drivers normally set down on the roads next to the station where private hire vehicles are allowed to stop. If you are catching a particular train, arrive in good time: the long platforms under the iron roof take a few minutes to walk with luggage.
Paddington or Heathrow?
Some travellers heading abroad take a car to Paddington and then the Heathrow Express. From Sutton, that is usually the long way round. Our Heathrow airport transfers take you directly to the terminal, normally in less time and with fewer changes. If you are flying from further afield, we also cover Gatwick and the other London airports.
Getting home from Paddington
Let us know your train and arrival time, and we will send a driver to meet you. If the train is running late, which does happen on long journeys from the West Country, call or message the office. For families returning from holiday with lots of luggage, a 6 seater or 7 seater taxi is often more comfortable than squeezing into a saloon.
Early business trips to Reading, Bristol and Cardiff
Paddington's first trains to Reading, Bristol and South Wales leave early, and business travellers from Sutton often need to be at the station before the local trains are running. We can collect you from home at any hour, so you arrive in time for your train without relying on connections. Ask for a receipt by email if the trip is for work.
Other London stations
For trains to the North and Scotland, try our Euston or King's Cross station taxi. For the South West via Woking and Southampton, see Waterloo. We collect for Paddington from Raynes Park, Wimbledon, Sutton and all the areas we cover.
Questions we get asked
How long is the drive from Rosehill to Paddington?
Typically 55 to 70 minutes. The route through west London is usually faster than going through the centre, but it still depends on traffic.
Can you take me to Paddington for the Night Riviera?
Yes. We work 24/7, so we can take you to the station late in the evening.
Is it better to go to Heathrow by car or via Paddington?
From Sutton, a direct car to Heathrow is usually quicker and simpler than going via Paddington and the Heathrow Express.
Can I book a pickup for a train back from Cornwall?
Yes. Give us the train and arrival time, and let us know if it is running late.
Can you pick me up from Paddington with lots of holiday luggage?
Yes. Tell us how many passengers and bags there are when you book, and we will send an estate car or a larger vehicle if needed.
