Questions we get asked

Do I need a PCO licence before I apply?

Yes. You need a current private hire driver licence from Transport for London (often called a PCO licence). If your application with TfL is still in progress, you can register your interest and we will contact you once it is issued.

Do I need my own car?

You need a vehicle with a current private hire vehicle licence and hire and reward insurance. It can be your own car or a rented PCO car, as long as the licence and insurance are in place.

Can I choose my own hours?

Yes. You tell us when you are available and accept the jobs that suit you. Early morning airport runs and weekends are usually the busiest times.

What documents will I need?

Your DVLA driving licence, PCO driver licence and badge, PHV vehicle licence, insurance certificate, MOT certificate and proof of right to work in the UK.

Is there a joining fee?

There is no fee to register your interest. We explain how jobs are paid, including any commission, before you start, so you can decide with the full picture.
