An easy run south of the river
Like Waterloo, London Bridge station is on the south side of the Thames, so the car never needs to cross the river. From Rosehill, drivers usually head north on the A24 through Morden, Tooting and Clapham, then go through Kennington and Elephant and Castle and up Borough High Street. The final stretch near Borough can be slow at busy times, but the route is generally straightforward. Journeys into central London during charging hours may cross the Congestion Charge zone. We will confirm when you book whether it is included in your fixed fare.
Trains from London Bridge
London Bridge is served by three operators. Southern trains run to East Croydon, Gatwick and the Sussex coast. Southeastern trains go to Kent, and Thameslink services run north through the City and south to Brighton and Gatwick. The rebuilt station has a large concourse at street level, with entrances on Tooley Street and St Thomas Street.
Guy's Hospital and hospital visits
Guy's Hospital is right next to the station, and St Thomas' Hospital is a little further along the river by Westminster Bridge. Patients and visitors from Sutton often book us for appointments there, especially when mobility or treatment makes public transport difficult. Tell us which hospital entrance you need, and whether you would like the same driver to bring you home, and we will arrange it.
The Shard, Borough Market and the City
London Bridge is also the drop-off point for The Shard, Borough Market and the riverside walk to Tower Bridge. Office workers use it to reach the City on the far side of London Bridge itself. We can take you there for a meeting, a meal or a day out, and collect you again later.
Meeting your driver
Because the streets around the station are busy, the driver will use a permitted stopping place on the surrounding roads rather than wait by the entrance. We will tell you where before you come out. If your train is running late, let the office know and we will keep the driver updated.
Early trains to Brighton and Gatwick
London Bridge has frequent Thameslink and Southern trains to Gatwick Airport and Brighton, so some travellers start their journey here. If you would rather take a car the whole way, our Gatwick transfer from Rosehill is usually quicker and simpler. But if you are meeting friends at London Bridge, or combining the trip with work in the City, we can get you to the station for an early train at any hour.
Going further
For flights from east London, London City Airport is the closest airport to London Bridge. For Kent, compare our Charing Cross station taxi. If your train leaves from the north side of the river, see King's Cross and Euston. For bigger groups, try a 7 seater taxi. We collect for London Bridge from Colliers Wood, Mitcham, Sutton and every other part of our areas we cover list.
