The straight road north
Victoria is one of the simpler central London runs from Rosehill. Most drivers take St Helier Avenue up to Morden, then follow the A24 through Colliers Wood, Tooting and Clapham before crossing the Thames at Vauxhall Bridge. Tooting Broadway and Clapham Common are the usual pinch points, and weekday mornings can be slow. Late at night, the drive is often much quicker. Journeys into central London during charging hours may cross the Congestion Charge zone. We will confirm when you book whether it is included in your fixed fare.
Trains, coaches and the Gatwick Express
Southern and Southeastern trains leave Victoria for Brighton, the Sussex coast and Kent. Many Southern trains from Sutton also run to Victoria, which is why some people only need a car when they have luggage or are travelling at night. Victoria Coach Station, a short walk away on Buckingham Palace Road, is the starting point for National Express and many European coach services. If you are going to the coach station, tell us, and we will drop you there instead of at the railway station.
Victoria is also where the Gatwick Express starts. From Rosehill, though, a direct car to the airport is usually faster: see our Gatwick airport transfers.
Arriving and leaving
The area in front of Victoria is busy with buses and pedestrians, and there are restrictions on where cars can stop. Our drivers use the permitted drop-off spots around the station and will tell you before you arrive where to meet them on your way back. If you are coming back on a late train or coach, give us the arrival time and we will have a car there.
School trips and group travel
Victoria is a common meeting point for school trips abroad and coach holidays. Parents often book us to drop children off with their luggage early in the morning. For several children from the same area, a 7 seater taxi or a 6 seater can take them together. Our school run taxi page explains how we handle bookings for children.
Coming home from Brighton and the coast
Victoria is the London end of the line from Brighton and the Sussex coast, and plenty of our passengers come back that way after a day by the sea or a weekend away. If you arrive late, especially with children who are tired or bags that are heavy, a car from Victoria back to Rosehill is much easier than changing trains. Send us your train time before you leave and we will have a driver ready.
Other stations near Victoria
If your train leaves from south of the river, our Waterloo station taxi may be closer. For trains to Kent, see Charing Cross and London Bridge. For Victoria, we collect from Mitcham, Colliers Wood, Carshalton and everywhere on our areas we cover page.
