Across Mitcham, from the Cricket Green to Eastfields

Mitcham is bigger than many people expect. The historic centre is around Fair Green and the Cricket Green, one of the oldest cricket grounds in the country. To the east, Mitcham Common stretches towards Croydon, and to the north the town runs towards Tooting and Colliers Wood. When you book a minicab in Mitcham, please give us the full address and postcode, as several roads have similar names in different parts of the town.

Getting to stations and trams

Mitcham has two railway stations: Mitcham Junction, which has Southern and Thameslink trains, and Mitcham Eastfields, on the line to Streatham and London. The Tramlink runs through the town towards Wimbledon and Croydon. We often take people from Mitcham to catch trains in central London, especially when they have luggage. Our Victoria station taxi and London Bridge station taxi are popular runs.

Local trips and hospital visits

St Helier Hospital is close to Mitcham, at the southern end of Bishopsford Road, and St George's Hospital in Tooting is a short drive north. Patients and visitors book us for both. Parents in Mitcham can set up a regular school run taxi, and for dog walks on the Common or visits to the vet, see our pet friendly taxi page.

Airport journeys from Mitcham

From Mitcham, Gatwick is reached by heading south past our office on the A217, while Heathrow is reached through Wimbledon and Kingston. For London's eastern airports, we cover London City and Stansted too. Families travelling together can book a 6 seater or 7 seater taxi.

Getting home from Tooting and Balham

Plenty of Mitcham residents spend their evenings in Tooting, Balham or Streatham, where the restaurants and bars stay open late. The journey home is short by car but awkward on night buses. You can pre-book a pickup for the end of the evening or ring the office when you are ready. Give the driver a clear meeting point on a side road, as the main high streets are red routes where stopping is restricted.

Booking a car for someone else in Mitcham

If you are arranging a car for a parent, a friend or a visitor, book in your own name and add the passenger's name and mobile number. Tell us anything the driver should know, such as a walking stick, a lot of shopping or a particular door to use at the pickup. We will pass the notes to the driver, and you can pay by card or cash.

Nearby areas

From Mitcham, our cars also cover Colliers Wood to the north-west and Carshalton to the south. Sutton town centre is a short drive down the A217. See all our areas we cover.
