Minicabs around Sutton town centre
From Rose Hill, the road into town runs down the hill and along Angel Hill to the top of the High Street. That short run is one of our most common bookings: shoppers heading to the St Nicholas Centre, people meeting friends for a meal, and commuters who need to get to Sutton station in a hurry. The station has Southern trains to Victoria and London Bridge and Thameslink services through the City. A car to the station is often quicker than the bus when you are running late for a train.
The one-way streets and bus lanes around the town centre can be confusing. Tell us exactly where you want to be dropped, such as the station forecourt, a particular shop, or the Civic Offices, and we will get you as close as the rules allow.
Hospital runs: the Royal Marsden and St Helier
Sutton has two big hospitals, and we drive to both every day. St Helier Hospital on Wrythe Lane is a few minutes from our office. The Royal Marsden's Sutton site is on Downs Road in Belmont, on the southern side of town. For appointments, especially treatment where you may feel unwell afterwards, it helps to book the return journey at the same time, or to call us when you are ready. Tell us which entrance you need, as both sites are large.
Local cars for everyday trips
Not every journey is to an airport. People in Sutton book our cars to go to the supermarket, the doctor's surgery, the gym, a parents' evening, and Sutton United's ground on Gander Green Lane on match days. For short trips there is a minimum fare, which the booking form shows before you confirm. Regular school pickups are covered on our school run taxi page, and pet owners going to the vet can use our pet friendly taxi.
From Sutton to the airports
Sutton is well placed for two major airports. Gatwick is straight down the A217 and is typically about 40 minutes away. Heathrow is a similar distance to the west. We also cover London City, Stansted and Luton. For trains into central London with luggage, see our Victoria station taxi.
Nights out and getting home safely
Sutton's High Street and the streets around it have plenty of restaurants and bars, and the evening can end later than the last convenient bus. Booking your ride home before you go out takes the worry away: give us a rough time and ring the office when you are ready, and a car will come to an agreed spot away from the busiest part of the street. If you are out with a group, one larger car is often simpler than several.
Booking for an older relative
Many of our Sutton bookings are made by sons, daughters and neighbours on behalf of someone older. You can book in your name, give us the passenger's details, and pay by card or cash as agreed. Tell us if the passenger uses a walking frame or folding wheelchair, needs a little extra time at the door, or should be taken to a particular entrance at the surgery or hospital. The driver will have the notes before setting off.
Neighbouring areas
Sutton borders several of the areas we cover. Cheam is to the west, Carshalton is to the east, and Mitcham is north along the A217. For the full list, see our areas we cover page.
